Citi Eases Real Estate Investment for Dubai-based NRIs

Non-resident Indians living in the Middle East now have more opportunities to invest onshore through Citibank's unique home loan products offered exclusively to non-resident Indians.

Over the weekend of 9-11 October, Citibank hosted the IndiaHome Property Exhibition in Dubai, which opens doors for NRIs to obtain first-hand information on the range of realty opportunities available in their home country. The exhibition, which was held at the Wafi City Raffles Hotel, showcased the offerings of prominent builders from all over India.

"Owning a home in India is long-cherished desire of all NRIs worldwide. However, the distance from the purchase location can be discouraging," said Ashish Mehrotra, head of consumer assets for Citibank India in a statement. "We are confident that [this exhibition' will serve as a convenient interface for NRIs with India's reputed real estate developers and help make the purchase process seamless."

Citibank's NRI Business, offering comprehensive wealth management services, operates from over 74 centres around the world and manages assets worth over $8 billion.
